BMI Calculator
Work out Body Mass Index from weight and height.
Body Mass Index (BMI) divides weight by height squared and is the quickest screening figure clinics use to flag under- or overweight ranges. It doesn't account for muscle mass, so treat it as a starting point rather than a diagnosis.

Is BMI accurate for athletes?
Not really — muscle weighs more than fat, so muscular people often read as 'overweight' on BMI alone. Body fat % or waist-to-hip ratio give a fuller picture.
What counts as a healthy BMI?
18.5–24.9 is the standard 'healthy weight' band used by most health authorities, with under 18.5 flagged underweight and 30+ flagged obese.
